An enchanting country wedding

fb_img_1454963533200.jpgfb_img_1453497926379.jpgOn a glorious September afternoon, our very own Tanglefrost Faery wed her handsome Elven Prince.

Surrounded by their dear ones, it truly was an enchanting celebration of their love for eachother: capturing perfectly their enduring passion for wild open countryside and informal floral abundance!

fb_img_1455040883202.jpgwp-1455043733894.jpgThe traditional service was held in Taddington Church, an ancient stone chapel in the village where the groom had grown up and many of his relatives still live.

Tumbling in exuberant tangles, local florists, Frances and Rose, had filled the church with informal bunches of locally-grown garden flowers. Similar posies were carried by the Bride and her attendants.

Many of the guests had travelled across the country to share in the celebrations.  And, as we sang the lilting melody of Carl Boberg’s “How Great Thou Art!”, the words described so eloquently the rolling Derbyshire hills that would form a rich backdrop the whole of the day.

“O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the works Thy hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!”

wp-1455047233803.jpgThe Bride’s magnificent ivory lace gown and veil, together with the grey-blue dresses  of her adult bridesmaids, were purchased from Charlotte Thompson in Tutbury.  A truly wonderful bridal shop with, once again, warm and exceptional service plus wide selection of elegant designer creations.

All photographs were taken by John Mottershaw, a local bridal photographer.  He really was amazing.  Him and his assistant were so unobtrusive and professional, setting everyone at ease and working quickly and efficiently.

We deeply appreciate ALL who contributed to making this such a wonderful day… thank you very much.

Most of all, I send my very best wishes to our very own Tanglefrost Faery and her Elven Prince: may every moment together be filled with love and laughter, magic and enchantment, as you continue your adventures together.

xx
